Be a travel writer
At V!VA Travel Guides we are looking for enthusiastic, reliable travel writers with a passion for travel, and an intimate knowledge of one or more regions in Latin America. We currently have several freelance positions and limited full-time positions available in our Quito office. We are a brand-new guide, so there are lots of opportunities for growth in our company. We are also looking for writers to nominate and write about their favourite Latin American places or experiences for our new book, V!VA List, due to be published in Spring 2006.
V!VA Travel Guides is a new way to look at travel guides. Unlike most travel guides on the market, V!VA Travel Guides is continually updated by the people who know the most about the local travel environment: the owners of local travel businesses, travelers who have been to the places listed and professional travel writers who have recent first-hand expertise in the area covered.
Travel Writers will be paid to cover destinations, transportation, hotels, restaurants and things to do and see in all Latin American countries on a per-project rate comparable to salaries paid by other travel guides. In the future, we will be contracting travel writers in other parts of the world.
If you are interested in participating, please send your resume with relevant work experience and a cover letter that includes the country or region that you propose to cover to write(at)livetravelguides.com. After you receive a response, we will ask for a writing sample of at least 500 words on the destination you propose to cover. Be sure to familiarize yourself with the writing on our web site before sending in the writing sample.
