Job Description: Account Executive

Work

Main purpose of role

• Sell different types of products for different types of media to new and existing clients
• Identification, research and education of potential new clients through to close of sale
• Maintenance of good client relationships

Core responsibilities

• Sell appropriate advertising to businesses within the country / region
• Educate touristic businesses regarding the value of web and book advertising for their businesses
• Pre-sales research of potential advertisers for V!va Travel Guides
• Create and maintain a database of clients and leads
• Checking details of new advertisements added to ensure that every page is 100% accurate
• Occasional training of new salespeople
• Actively contribute to team meetings regarding new projects, suggesting ideas and brainstorming
• Work with the Management team to assist with developing the Sales Strategy
• Follow up on sales leads supplied by the Management or Editorial team
• Attend industry trade shows as required

Essential skills, experience and abilities

• Sales experience, preferably for different types of products (banners, page ads) for different types of media (web, book, magazines)
• Experience of independent travel
• Native Spanish speaker and ability to speak English fluently
• Ability to grasp technical concepts
• Excellent computer skills
• Willingness to travel if required

Desirable skills, experience and abilities

• Experience of sales within the tourism industry in the specific country
• Formal business qualification
• Experience of independent travel in the specific region
• Ability to write sales copy and understanding of Search Engine Optimisation
• Experience of Adobe ImageReady / Photoshop / Pagemaker / Content Management Systems / MS Word and Excel
