Application Process

To apply for any of the V!VA Travel Guides’ Boot Camps, you will need to follow the process below carefully. You need to prepare two writing samples (details about these are below), and upload them to the V!VA Travel Guides' website for review.

The process works like this:

1. Open a V!VA Travel Guides account

2. Submit your first writing sample, from your “My Profile” page.

This writing sample should be a hotel / restaurant / activity review for the website. This will be a brief review of a hotel, restaurant or activity that you have experienced. It should be between 100-200 words long. To select which one to upload, choose one of the following options:

Add a hotel

Add a restaurant

Add an activity

There are example hotel, restaurant and activity reviews to look at, to help guide you with what we are looking for.

3. Submit your second writing sample, from your “My Profile” page.

The second sample should be a V!VA List World piece. A V!VA List World piece is a 500-2,000 word piece, and should be a first-hand account of your most amazing travel experience. There are writing guidelines available about how to write these pieces.

4. Send the links/urls for both in an email

Send them to: write@vivatravelguides.com, including your up-to-date resume and a paragraph explaining why you would make a great travel guidebook writer. Please indicate whether you will be able to stay on after the course for assignment, and if so, for how long.

Once you have sent your complete application to us, you will hear from us within two weeks if you have been accepted. At that point, we will need your payment for the course within two weeks, to finalize your place on the course. This can be paid by credit card or Paypal.
