San Ignacio, in the Cayo District is a hub for rainforest travel and jungle expeditions, including trips to the Tapir Mountain Nature Reserve, Xunantunich Ruins and Mountain Pine Ridge. Tours are plentiful and may include archaeological walks, ruin visits, bird watching and wildlife excursions, and canoe trips. Many resorts and lodges organize tours, but independent companies are also abundant.
