The famous Garifuna drumming is what keeps this area of the world in the beat and you can do no better than head to Metho's to get a drum lesson from local resident Emmert. You can learn how to get a rhythm in an hour, or if you have plenty of time, try to make a drum, then learn how to play it. If you prefer watching, you can enjoy one of the occasional village concerts or pay big bucks to have his group perform just for.
Drumming organised at Metho's. Drum lesson BZ$25/hour, drum making BZ$250 for three to five eight-hour days, drum show BZ$500 for three hours.
