Caye Caulker Reserve
This is a cheaper option if you cannot afford to splash out on the Hol Chan Marine Reserve. Most trips come with an in-sea guide and visit three sites, but you get what you pay for and because the coral here is higher in the water, it is more damaged by the waves and less vibrant in colour. The Shark and Ray Village here, though, does enable you to get even closer to these big animals as the waters where the boats bait them is much shallower.
