Cayo District Overview

V!VA User‘s Description

As Belizes' largest district, it is also its most diverse. Even though Cayo has no coastline, many argue it is the most beautiful area in the country.

Major Mayan sites like Caracol and Cahal Pech can be found here, as can the Maya Mountains, the Mountain Pine Ridge nature reserve and San Ignacio-a friendly base town for exploring the area.
