Caracol
This is one of Belize's celebrated ruins and it is most easily accessible from San Ignacio, although it is still 80 km away on a bumpy road. Set deep in a jungle national park, the site is impressively large, as it is inspringly mysterious. Its highlight is the 43-meter-high Sky Palace, which offers impressive views of the surrounding dumble from its summit. These tours also stop at Rio On Pools for a cooling dip on the way back to town.
