This is a bit out of the way, but it is a good spot to go relax by the tranquil water of the lagoon. Built on stilts over the water, the covered open deck has plenty of space even though local often fill up the seats by the bar. Food is standard Belize and consists generally of what is in the chef's head at the time, which can often be chicken or pork with rice and coleslaw.

Merlen's Caters to "Big Boaters"

Merlene's had great potential with a waterfront setting and beautiful views. It is very near the Moorings and they cater to "big boaters." we were asked to leave our table for a larger party, our menu items were served to the larger party and they brought us shrimp and fish, instead of just shrimp, because they ran out. We were there first but not as catered to! Maybe it was an unfortunate experience.
