Hiking inside the National Park is a popular activity, as the path is mostly flat and easy to follow. Entrance is from both the Puerto Vargas end and from Cahuita town itself, by the white beach. One end of the trail to the other is 8.3km, which can usually be completed at an undemanding pace in little over two hours; however, it is advised to allow much more time to fully enjoy the marvelous bird and animal-watching opportunities. Remember always to bring enough water and never to feed the monkeys. See Safety section for important advice about activities in the park.
