Supposedly the rainy months here are July, November and December, and dry season is January to April, but in reality the weather in Cahuita is changeable all year round. Two distinct seasons, however, are high and low tourist season. High season is from about December to May, and if traveling here in low season, you’ll find Cahuita much quieter and hotels a little cheaper. Book ahead if coming on national holidays like 15th Sep., Independence Day, and especially Semana Santa, Easter week, when it seems Costa Rica closes entirely and everybody goes to the beach.
