Refugio Nacional de Vida Silvestre Gandoca-Manzanillo Walk

Overview

The walk starts at Manzanillo, which can be reached from Puerto Viejo by an inconveniently timed local bus, taxi ($10e/w) or bike ($5/day). The trail begins along the beach until you can walk no more then heads in through the forest and winds along the coast dropping onto beaches or making muddy trails through the deep lush trees. Keep an eye out for spiders and an ear out for howler monkeys and if you are not good at route-finding it may be worth hiring a guide as splitting trails can be confusing.

Price

($25 for 4 hours).
