Entering off 1km from the main road through the jungle past magnificent, giant trees, you know this is a nature lover’s paradise. Quiet is maybe not the word for this lodge, with the wonderful jungle sounds of howler monkeys, toucans, frogs and insects, but peaceful, definitely. The lodges are clean and simple, with double beds, mosquito nets, fans and private bathrooms. Breakfast is included in the very modest price: $28 single, $40 double and $50 triple. See iguanas, turtles, butterflies and hummingbirds here, too, or rent a bike one day to go down to the beach. Run by friendly, nature-passionate German owners.
