This eclectic place is a fantastic spot to base oneself in La Fortuna.

Rooms are cozy with wooden walls, some of which are a little thin, and come with fans. There is a fantastic communal area and a garden with volcano views. Friendly "Gringo Pete" is always on hand to offer advice and discounts on tours in the area.

It was so convenient and fun. We had a great time there. Shared a dorm bed with my husband...5 bucks a night, can't beat it. Had a great view of the volcano and even had kitchen privleges. Try it..you'll love it.

Good place to stay on the cheap

You really can't beat it for the price. Rooms are clean and Gringo Pete is a great source for information about cheap tours.
