Soda La Parada

This fantastic little local place is open 24 hours so is a perfect spot to head to after the hot springs close at 10. Although the  open-air cafe-diner style surroundings do not look that inviting the food is cheap and tasty. Leave space for dessert, though, because the banana splits are so, so good.

Traveler Reviews of Soda La Parada

La Muerta

Having just moved to Costa Rica, Soda La Parada was on of the first places I visited. Known by the locals as "La Muerta" or "The Death", it's a place that is usually frequented after you've visited the local bars. It's open 24 hours, which is very convenient, especially after a few Imperials. The food is very good for the price. For breakfast they offer 4-5 different meals all ranging from about $4-5. The servings are huge. I would recommend their Huevos Ranchero, after a lively night of partying the salsa picante definitely hits the spot. It is an open-air restaurant, which is directly across from the central park so whether you are by yourself or with a group you can enjoy the scenery and local color. It is very family friendly as well so you can feel comfortable taking your children with you as well. The service is very good, the waiters speak enough English that you can feel comfortable ordering.
