With its red, green and yellow color scheme, Wachacha exudes a definite Caribbean atmosphere. If there is any further doubt about the theme, the 7x10 foot oil painting of Bob Marley should set you straight (there is information about the mural and it’s artist at www.ursularauh.com/murals.htm).
Wachacha also has a stage for live performances and an outdoor eating area. The restaurant’s meals and snacks stem from a mixture of Caribbean, Mexican, Costa Rican, and American influences. Common ingredients include rice, beans, tortillas, meats and various seafood. A meal such as “chicken with rice and beans” may sound boring, but it is deliciously prepared and has obviously been well perfected over many generations.
Prices here are mid-range; you can expect to pay between $10 to $20 for a meal, including a drink. Wachacha is located up the side street by Dominical Backpackers.
