El Coquito Bar & Cabinas - Hotel Matapalo - Costa Rica

El Coquito features coconut-heavy palms that fade into sand and you can walk straight to the sea from your cabina. There are 6 cabinas which sleep 4-5 people each, all with a private bathroom, hot shower and fan. The hotel charges $55/dbl per night, or you can rent one of the two backpackers rooms for $40/dbl. Each extra person pays an additional $10 per night. A continental breakfast is included and you can dine at the hotel’s small restaurant/bar for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Live music (classic rock) is performed 3 nights a week. The friendly staff are also willing to arrange tours, surf lessons, and surfboard rentals.
