Volunteering

OTEC International is a group of companies that specialize in cultural exchange and student travel.

Volunteer Costa Rica is one of the many programs offered by OTEC International. For a relatively low price, the company places groups of students (over the age of 18), professionals and enthusiasts in social interest projects with local NGOs, schools, orphanages and women’s groups.

Past volunteer placements have included teaching English in rural communities, working on the conservation of biological corridors and helping people in need, such as orphans and elders.

The programs, which last anywhere from a few weeks to two years, include private airport transfers, two nights at a hostel in San Jose, an orientation, assistance during the program and a participant certificate upon request.
