At Centro Panamerico de Idiomas students can study at any or all of the three campuses around Costa Rica. The flagship campus in Heredia is close to San José, which makes trips to the capital city easy. The Monteverde campus is set in the rural highlands, and the Flamingo Beach campus is close to the beach, of course — the Pacific coast, that is. In addition to the standard Spanish classes, field trips and homestay hookups, Centro Panamerico de Idiomas (CPI) has several unique Spanish class-special activity combos. Programs include soccer camps, scuba diving certification and social work seminars. CPI also can help arrange academic credit with a student's home university.

Information:
Weekly Cost: $315 per week for 20 hours of lessons, $430 per week for 27.5 hours of lessons.
Deposit Required: 10 percent of program cost.
Discounts: Discounts apply for studying longer than three weeks.
Class Size: 4 students maximum.
Hours per Week: 20 hours for the Intensive Course, 27.5 hours for the Super-Intensive Course.
