There are two Yoga studios in the area – Shooting Star Studio, about a 10-minute walk from the center of Pavones along the road to Punta Banco, and the Yoga Farm in Punta Banco. Shooting Star has a large, screened, wood studio with a massage table and outdoor shower, set among a sprawling tropical garden. Walk-ins are welcomed, and a single class costs only $10 – just remember to bring a towel. The studio also holds karate classes. (URL: www.yogapavones.com, Classes: Mon. 2p.m.-2:30p.m. strength yoga – intermediate, Wed. 10a.m.-12p.m. Ashtanga yoga – advanced, Fri. 2p.m.-3p.m. surf yoga – beginners and intermediate).
The Yoga Farm is more of a retreat center – it is an organic farm and yoga center that also sponsors wildlife research and conservation in the area, and sits next to a Guayami Indian reservation. Guests sleep and eat on the farm. No alcohol is permitted. Stays are $35-$50 a night – check out the farm's website for more information on accommodations and weekly rates(URL: www.yogafarmcostarica.org).
