Zancudo's cultural diversity is reflected in its dining options, which range from simple sodas to upscale Italian. Sol y Mar has the most eclectic menu in town, with Mexican food, curries, American-style dishes, seafood and French-influenced cuisine. Another popular place for international variety is the restaurant at the Zancudo Lodge, although they are more expensive than Sol y Mar – a bit more upscale. There are also two authentic Italian restaurants, Macondo and Restaurante la Puerta Negra – equally delicious, with Puerta Negra placing more emphasis on dishes from Northern Italy and Macondo on Southern. And if you are set on having the true Tico experience, good traditional food is always easy to come by.
