When To Go

The best time to go to Junquillal is during the high season (December-April). This town is never particularly busy, and it all but shuts down in the rainy season (August-November). One perk for going in the rainy season is that it’s the best time to see the turtles hatch; there’s a hatchery right next to the beach entrance. In the high season, you’ll enjoy peaceful days and possibly a bit of adventure, including taking off on a day trip or doing some local horseback riding.
