Eating out in Tamarindo might pose a challenge to shoestring travelers, as restaurants here can be a little pricier than other areas of Costa Rica. That said, it is possible to wine and dine quite well for around $15 - $30 (depending on the number of cocktails consumed). The variety of food on offer is huge, ranging from tex mex-style BBQ joints to tiny sushi bars and local sodas. There is also no shortage of upmarket eateries, and most of the high-end hotels have their own restaurants which are usually open to the public.
