Wildlife Watching - Other Activity Nicoya - Costa Rica

Wildlife watching opportunities occur both above and below ground here. In the caves, you’ll most likely see some bats, especially in and around the Trampa Cave chamber known as Stink-Pot Hole. This chamber is made odiferous from deposits of bat guano (feces), and houses the largest bat population in the park. Above ground, you’ll find capuchin monkeys, coyotes, long-nosed armadillos, deer, coatis, anteaters, skunks, raccoons and the stinky fox. The best way to see most of these animals is with a guide, who will know where and how to spot them.
