Hostel Piramys appears to be more or less a hippy hang-out. If you plan on emailing (piramys@hotmail.com) or phoning (2787-0196) in advance, you’ll need to speak Spanish. And if you email, don’t hold your breath for a reply. The beachfront location is great though, and you have a more privacy than at other establishments, as Piramys is set apart from popular places like Tortilla Flats Bar and Cabinas. Be aware that there will still likely be ambient noise since a local bar is located next door. Breakfast isn’t included, but Piramys is close to Cafeteria Café en Sueño, where you can get organic coffee, juice, smoothies and snacks. Private rooms cost $25 per night, and come with the perk of hot water. If you’re on a budget, you can stay in the dorms for $8 a night. There are plenty of common areas for socializing and the hostel also has surfboards for rent.

Once in Dominical, head towards the beachfront and follow the signs. (You can even follow the signs to Domilocos if you want - Piramys is close to this hotel which is signposted as well).
