Guanacaste
The northwestern province of Guanacaste sports a dry, temperate climate, great beaches, great tourist towns such as Tamarindo, Nicoya, and the capital Liberia, fantastic hiking opportunities along the Cordillera de Guanacaste and Cordillera de Tilaran mountain ranges (both connected by a series of volcanoes), as well as stunning flora and fauna encompassing everything from butterflies to jaguars. The Daniel Oduber International Airport has made direct access to Guanacaste easier in recent years.
