Keeping in Touch
There is one public phone in town at the pulpería Abstecedor La Amistad. La Amistad is located right behind the beach area where the boat from Sierpe will most likely drop you off (if you are not taken directly to your hotel), and there are signs indicating the phone.
The Corcovado Expeditions tour office also serves as a web café. There are about seven computers, and internet use is about $1 an hour. Internet services are suspended for the month of October.

Medical
There is one small clinic in Agujitas, located along the beach past Corcovado Expeditions: Hospital Clinica Biblica. Ths clinic is fine for basic medical needs and consulattions, and visits are generally inexpensive. However, be aware that in case of a serious emergency – a surgery for instance – the closest hospital is in Palmar Norte, which means a minimum 30 minute boat ride to Sierpe and a minimum15 minute car ride to Palmar. Money
The last ATM and the last bank are in Palmar, so bring pletnty of cash. Both dollars and colones are accepted everywhere. Don’t count on being able to use a credit card unless you have verified beforehand that your lodge accepts them.
Laundry Many of the lodges, even the smaller cabinas, do laundry. If yours does not offer this service and you are in desperate need of cleaning wet, stinky clothes, go to Manolo’s or Casita Corcovado, and negotiate a price.

Religion
There are a couple of churches in Agujitas. One is Igelsia Cristiana Bautista, the gated teal and dark wood building beside Cabinas Pura Vida. Another is unmarked, across from the enormous green and white house, near Mar y Bosque.

General
There are a couple of “abstecedores” in town if you want to pick up some snacks, basic amenities like sunscreen and toothpaste or an extra pair of flip flops.
