Drake is a naturalist’s playground, but if you have any qualms about getting wet or dirty, better to head someplace else. Carate offers the same seclusion and access to Corcovado Park as Drake Bay but does not require transport by boat. At Drake, boat is the primary mode of transportation, so if you don´t have a sailor’s stomach, remember to bring your motion-sickness pills. The most common activities around the bay are hikes in Corcovado Park, snorkeling or diving around Isla del Caño, dolphin and whale watching, and sport fishing. Most hotels or lodges offer tours that include the most popular activities. Many places also offer night hikes, kayaking and horseback riding.Note that most tours require a minimum of four people.
