Locally, this place is known as the “casa de oro,” or house of gold, because it is made entirely out of mahogany. This peaceful family home has four rooms open to guests, including a spacious loft with a fantastic view of the ocean. Rooms are $25 with breakfast, and guests are invited to use the kitchen facilities during their stay. At the moment there are only two bathrooms, so you may have to share, but they have hot water. There is also a front porch for relaxing or taking meals, and occasionally you will see monkeys hanging out in the trees around the house. It’s a bit of a hike to reach this place, but there is road access if you wish to take a cab.
