The city is also close to several beaches, such as Playa Cacao, that make good day-trip destinations. A botanical orchid garden, Casa Orquideas, is located on nearby San Josecito beach. Two activities unique to Golfito are the Golfito Wildlife Reserve and the Depositivo Libre shopping complex.
