The Osa Peninsula has world class sports fishing all over, and Golfito is no exception. An incredible variety of game fish can be caught right in the Golfo Dulce, and many rigs will also venture into the surrounding waters of Cabo Matapalo and other nearby areas that are known for good fishing. In and around the Golfo Dulce you can hope to catch marlin, sailfish, dorado, wahoo, snapper, snook, barracuda, mackerel, jack, tuna, grouper and roosterfish. The best season for sailfish is December to May, for marlin April to October and for snook June to December.
