Safety in Golfito
Golfito is the largest city in the Osa Peninsula region, and as such you are more likely to run into unsavory characters here than in more rural parts of the Osa. However, that being said the thing you have to be most cautious about is petty theft. Be especially mindful of your things if you use the public buses. If you are driving, always keep your doors locked and don’t leave valuables in the car.
