Tours through this maze of water and wood depart principally from Sierpe, since it is the town closest to the reserve, but some tours leave from Drake as well. Most mangrove tours are a half day and can run anywhere from $45-$100 per person. Las Vegas in Sierpe charges $45. There are also night tours for crocodile and caiman spotting that typically last two hours and are slightly less expensive. Because it is closer, it is easier to find less costly tours in Sierpe, as opposed to Drake. You can rent a kayak for $15-$20 in Sierpe and go the self-guided route, but it is not recommended - it is too easy to get lost inside the mangroves, or to never even find the right entrance. Plus, you'll be missing out on all the interesting information about the flora and fauna that you would receive with a professional guide.
