Getting To and Away from Paso Canoas

The Tracopa bus office is locate on the left side of the Banco de Costa Rica, but buses arrive and depart across the street. Buses depart daily for San Jose at 4, 7:30 and 9 a.m., and at 3 p.m. Tickets are $11.60, except for the 9a.m. bus which costs $12.50. Tel: 2 732-2119. Many of the destinations require making a connection in Ciudad Neily – the ride is about a half an hour and costs less than a dollar.
There is a 24 hour taxi station next to the migration building – Sertafron, S.A., tel: 2 727-6334, although red taxis are usually plentiful, and wait around the island by the bus stop, in front of immigration.
You can rent cars from Lucero Tours – located down a ways on the right after you make a right onto the main cross street pass the buses. Tel: 2 732-3118 / 8 375-4144, E-mail: grupolucerodelsur@rasca.co.cr.
There is a SANSA office in town that sells flights to Golfito or San Jose for $108. Take a right past the bus stop. The office is on the left, connected to Cabinas, Bar and Restaurant Interamericano. Lucero can also arrange flights.
