The best way to get to Pavones is through Golfito. From here it is about 2.5 hours by bus or 1.5-2 hours by taxi. The bus from Pavones back to Golfito stops in front of the cantina at 12:30 p.m. and at the bus stop across from Villas Riviera between 5 and 5:30 a.m., costing a little over $1 (1,200c). You can also go direct from San Jose by Tracopa bus. It’s a 7-8 hour trip and costs about $8.
