Herrera Botanical Gardens and Conservation Project

These immense, private gardens are a great way to experience the jungle without getting mud on your pants or paying the high tour fees. This property started out as cow pasture, and the owners have done little more than let it grow wild and then carve out a series of pathways. Many of the plants lining the paths have been strategically placed, however, so that visitors can enjoy the botanical highlights without having to hunt.
