Tourist information
There are plenty of offices strewn about town with signs advertising “tourist information.” Toucan Travel and Cafenet El Sol are two of your best resources. They provide maps (at El Sol they cost about a quarter), and both have a large volume of information to share, plus some of the most reasonable tour prices. El Sol's website is indispensible and has thorough coverage of all of Osa. For good, easy-to-read, official maps of Jimenez, though, go to the little Osa Travel office beside the government park information building.

Keeping in Touch
Communication is no problem in Puerto Jimenez. There are reliable public phones all around town – a few are located on the corner where Oro Verde is situated, there are a couple more down the street across from Osa Net Cafe and there is one right past Pizza Express.
There are a few internet places in town, the big two being Cafenet El Sol (www.soldeosa.com), which also has WiFi, fax capabilities and international calling (though it's much cheaper to get a phone card and use the public phones), and Cafe Internet Osa (Mon.-Fri. 9a.m.-8p.m. and Sat. 10a.m.-8p.m.). Osa can also download photos and burn them to CD.
The post office is located in front of the soccer field.
