This is one of the first places you'll see after you step off the dock. In front sits the bar, with pool tables, a stage and a dance floor. Walk around to the back and you will come to a kitchen and small outdoor dining area on the left, beyond which are the cabinas. The rooms are simple and could be cleaner, but at the time of writing many were being remodeled into spacious mini-apartments with kitchen facilities and a dining area. Every cabina has a small porch with a hammock for lounging, and the main kitchen is available for all guests to use. El Coquito is an open, friendly place, and the owner, Carlos, is always willing to help with tours, transportation or anything else you might need. There is also an in-house DJ who gets the Saturday night crowds pumped up with custom mixes and kareoke. If you chose to stay here, though, you'd better plan on joining the party, because either way you'll be listening to it.
