When to Go

Zancudo is extremely quiet during low season – most of the hotels and restaurants close during this time, and there are few if any tourists. However, prices decrease significantly for some lodging facilities. A room that costs $70 in high season can run as low as $20 in low season.

Holidays and Festivals
Every year during the second week in February, Zancudo holds a big jazz festival. Years ago a local millionaire started paying the well-known Taj Mahal jazz combo to come down and perform, and soon other groups, national and international, began coming as well. Now hordes of tourists arrive each year to relax on the beach and listen to music.
