Sol y Mar has great food and an excellent atmosphere. It caters mostly to expats and foreigners, serving an array of dishes from veggie club sandwiches to beef in brandy cream sauce. The set up is typical thatched roof with heavy wooden tables and a bar in the center, but mobiles and colorful sarongs hanging about give this place a little more personality than the average beach joint. For $5 a plate, bring in your fresh catch and the chef will prepare it to your liking. The restaurant is open from 7a.m.-9p.m., and the bar is usually open until everyone goes home.
