Upstairs above the cafe of the same name, this is a great spot to splash out on something a little different. There is a tree growing right through the middle of the restaurant (both floors) and the layout creates a cozy feel. Food is fantastic and specialty options, although pricy, offer good value for money. There is a typical Costa Rican plate, a cheese fondue made with local cheese, and a chocolate fondue for dessert.

Bad service and VERY pricey!

I went to this restaurant this past weekend with the small group that I am studying in Costa Rica with. It seemed look a cool and hip place to have dinner, drinks, and entertainment; however I was very displeased with the service that we received. My friend and I ordered the Cheese Fondue for two and the cheese we received would not only not melt, but was the consistency of small-curd cottage cheese (to put it nicely). We asked our waiter about it, and he said he would do something about it but never did. In addition,  he did not come to check on us to see if everyone else's food was ok, or ask if we wanted to refills on our drinks or if we cared for any dessert. Finally, when we went to pay my friend and I ended up paying $35 EACH for splitting a salad, the cheese fondue and two drinks (total). Kind of pricey for a split meal I think...

Other than that, the other members in my group enjoyed their food and the atmosphere was great, I just wish we had a better waiter who cared if we liked our food or not.

Tree house

Love it, but make a reservation as soon as you can for dinner, as the place fills up fast and a balcony table overlooking the street is the best. Food is very good.

Happy Place to Literally Hang Out

Loved the huge, living tree growing up throug the middle. I fell in love with the unique light fixtures which were obviously hand made. Unique, rustic, handmade furniture. Excellent food--a good value and best Mojito I've ever had. Servers were friendly & helpful. PLUS free inter net with dinner! We loved it!
