La Mansion Inn

La Mansion Inn is located in Manuel Antonio, just off the main road that heads down to the beach and National Park. Although there are many accommodation options in the area, La Mansion Inn stands out as one of the few 5-star hotels in the area and has recently received awards from Trip Advisor, including Travelers Choice 2009, Best for Romance, and Best for Luxury. The design and furnishing of the hotel is eclectic; part European, part Mediterranean, and home to many works of art by local Costa Rican talents. A definite "must see" here is the Bat Cave Bar - a genuine bat cave located at the heart of the hotel, which has been converted into a gloomy bar. You access the cave by climbing a short winding staircase and stooping through a little door into the dark grotto (complete with mist for added effect). This hotel channels casual elegance and intimacy, feeling more like a home than something with cold class. With only 22 guest rooms, La Mansion Inn has limited occupancy and due to popularity, often books up fast, so early reservations are recommended. A restaurant is also located inside the hotel.
