Seemingly advertised in every hostel in Central America this place sees itself as THE place to be in Costa Rica and it lives up to the hype. Located in a safe area within walking distance of the city centre it offers a tranquil spot to make a visit to San Jose more than bearable. Simple but clean rooms and large dorms are spread out around a central courtyard with a good size pool and there is free internet, coffee and movies. There is also a travel centre but they tend to push commissioned tours a little too hard and exaggerate dangers so also check with fellow travelers for advice.
