Hotels in Havana Vieja are divided between casas particulares in apartments, and fancy hotels in renovated old colonial buildings. The hotels in Havana Vieja are generally small affairs with not too many rooms, but very well decorated to a high standard, often with antique furniture, restaurant, concierge and Internet service, and occasionally with extras such as a pool. The casas particulares in Havana Vieja tend to be more expensive than in other parts of the country, but of a similar price to elsewhere in Havana. You will be very lucky to find a place for less than CUC25—more likely you’ll be paying CUC30. Rooms are usually basic but clean, often with fridge, air conditioning (or at least fan) and private bathroom. The accommodation available in this part of town is dispersed, with no one part of town particularly dominant.
