This museum traces the history of Trinidad, from the early slave trade and the sugar plantations in the area, through to the development of workers unions in the region. The museum has some interesting exhibits including a lot of colonial-style furniture and items from the slavery period. The museum gives visitors a good understanding of how local life was in the past. Somewhat unusually, there are signs in English. One of the best bits about this museum is that you can climb up the tower to the roof, where you have a great view over Trinidad, including the plaza and the surrounds.
