Viñales has really woken up to how important it is for tourism in recent years. You cannot fail to notice this when you get off the bus and are mobbed by owners of Casas looking for tenants. If you don’t notice it here, you will notice it when you walk down the street (any street). Almost every other house is a Casa that rents a room or two. Casas do not vary a great deal in style – many offer private bathroom and a fridge. Most places offer clean, basically furnished rooms. If you’re prepared to go outside of government approved places, you can haggle for a place as low as CUC 10. However, if you prefer to stay in government places, expect to pay between 15 and 25 CUC. For those not looking to stay in Casas, there are a few hotels, mainly outside of town. These places are considerably more expensive but much more luxurious.
