Mercado Central - Market Antigua - Guatemala

A visit to Antigua's central market is an excellent way to experience local culture first hand. Open daily (6am - 7pm), rows of wooden stalls are alive with color and the hustle and bustle of vendors peddling their wares. Buzzing with activity, here one can find anything from traditional textiles, handicrafts, fresh produce and raw meat to shiny watches, pots, pipes and pirated CD's. Peruse the wide variety of available goods while mingling with the local people. If hungry for a taste of culture, visit one of the many comedores (food kiosks)and sample some authentic Guatemalan cuisine.
