Chichicastenango is not a town for night owls, so when eating out in the evening be sure to not wait too late before heading out. During the day there are lots of food stalls around the main square selling tortillas, kebab-style sandwiches, stews, fried chicken with fries and fruit. Right by El Calvario church, next to the little park, there is a take-away pizza stand open all day, every day. There are also a few restaurants, such as Buena Aventura and Kieq’ Ik Steak House, in the pink centro

If you prefer something more upscale then head to the restaurants in the nicer hotels, like the Santo Tomás.
