Guatemala Hotels

Guatemala's hostels, hotels and campsites offer a range of lodging options, meeting the budgets and needs of most every traveler to the country.

Guatemala Luxury Hotels and Resorts

Most people do not think of luxury when they think of Guatemala. Resorts and luxury hotels, however, are clustered in a few spots in the country: in a handful of Guatemala City neighborhoods, in and around Antigua, around Tikal and lining the best fishing spots on the Pacific coast. Many of these places offer spectacular rooms, perks like jacuzzis and fitness centers, excellent food and professional, English-speaking staff. Rooms at Guatemala's resorts and luxury hotels usually fall in the $125 – 350 price range.

Guatemala Budget Hotels and Guatemala Hostels

In most every town in Guatemala, hostels line at least one street. These budget hotels represent some of the best values in the country. Sure, the rooms can be a bit dingy, hot water can be sporadic or non-existent and you might have to shared a bathroom. However, some properties are better taken care-of, and you can expect to pay just $3-10 per person. Prices are somewhat higher in Guatemala City and Antigua. In many towns in Guatemala, budget hotels and hostels are the only option.

Guatemala Camping and Other Guatemala Accommodation Options

If you are looking to enjoy the outdoors while traveling in Guatemala, camping is a splendid option. There are a number of places to camp in Guatemala, especially in the national parks, and many small villages will allow you to camp as well. Many informal campsites will be free, while formal sites, which generally have bathroom facilities, will charge a few dollars. For a unique perspective on Guatemala, homestays can be arranged, usually through a Spanish school. Prices for room and full board range from $80-200 per month.
