Internet is commonly available throughout Guatemala. Medium-sized towns usually have Internet cafés with a decent connection. Internet cafés may exist in the smaller towns (although don’t count on it), and connectivity speeds will tend to be slower. In the cities and bigger towns, connectivity is good, with fast speeds available. In some cases you can use Internet in the hostel where you are staying, or if you are studying Spanish, at your school. This benefit will often be included in the price of your stay / classes, although there may be a limit placed on usage, such as 30 minutes per day. Sometimes these places will charge you a little extra for the use of their Internet facilities. WiFi access is becoming more commonplace. Many of the Spanish schools have wireless, as do the higher end hotels and a few hostels. If you are looking for a room, you may be charged a little more at hostels that have wireless connectivity.
